What To Do If You Don't Have a Pre-Marital Agreement
Celebrity divorce is not news, however, it is news when a celebrity has substantial wealth, and no prenuptial agreement. Its a rare occasion when a celebrity doesn't demand that his/her soon to be spouse sign a prenuptial agreement, but it does happen, and everyone speculates as to how much money they are going to have to fork over in the event of a divorce. This is the case for Paul McCartney and Heather Mills. This case has been splashed all over the newspapers for weeks and it looks like Mr. McCartney may be settling with Ms. Mills for millions. Whether this is fair or not is debatable, however, its important to know what you can do to protect your wealth if you find yourself in a similar situation as Paul McCartney. Forbes recently published an article on its website giving people some helpful tips to protect their wealth in the event of a divorce when there is no prenuptial agreement in place. Some of the things are extreme and unrealistic such as a man going to jail for contempt because he wouldn't turn over $2.5 million to his wife that he was ordered to pay by a Judge. While I'm certainly not condoning that type of behavior, there are other ways in which you can protect your wealth in the event of a divorce.
